Pin Up 05/02/13 - You Only Live Twice 1967

final combined from Varis Niwatsakul on Vimeo.

The focus of the case study is based on the film "you only live twice" 1967. It was the fifth series in james bond films. The scope of the analysis is centered on the villian hideout volcano crater. The set was designed by Ken adam to mimic the never found fictional place described in the original novel.

Here, the set was analyzed and broken down into 6 sequences. Each sequence will involve in at least one of the movable mechanics appear in the set which are monorail system, rocket gantry, rocket shuttle, crater sliding roof, and heliport.

The diagrams is separated into 2 types of drawings, the first one is focused on the movable mechanics and it's choreography according to each sequence storyline and  commands. One thing important to note is that in every scenes there will be a voice over stating the command. This serves as the main driver for the following choreography. The second type of drawing is focus on the same sequences but with the emphasis on each sequence specific camera movements and angles and the sequence it was shot.

The first type of diagrams are read firstly by its synopsis which dictate how the scene is set and the choreography is described by varying opacity of line color.
